Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

This privacy policy explains how Amit Srivatsa ("I", "me") collects and uses data when you visit amitsrivatsa.com. I respect your privacy and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What data is collected

With your consent, I use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring website or search engine
  • Approximate location (country/city level, derived from IP address)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • A randomly generated analytics identifier stored in a cookie (_ga)

No names, email addresses, or other directly identifying personal data are collected through analytics. If you contact me via email or book a consultation, your email address is handled directly by the respective services (Outlook, Google Calendar) and is not shared.

2. Purpose and legal basis

Analytics data is used solely to understand which content is most useful and to improve the website. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Analytics are only activated after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner.

3. Cookies

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

  • _ga — distinguishes unique users; expires after 2 years
  • _ga_XXXXXXXXXX — stores session state; expires after 2 years

Your consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key cookieConsent. This is not a cookie and is never sent to any server.

4. Data retention

Google Analytics retains event data for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted.

5. Third-party processor: Google

Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, which may transfer data to servers in the United States. Google participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy .

No other third parties receive your data from this website.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As an EU resident, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of data held about you
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw analytics consent at any time (see below)

To exercise any of these rights, contact me at amitsrivatsa@outlook.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens .

7. Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your analytics consent at any time. This stops future data collection but does not delete data already collected.
